Taking higher education to masses-Really?
The move to introduce 49.5% reservation in all central universities(IITs,IIMs,DeemedUniversities etc..,) is totally attrocious. As such the country has been suffering from this evil since independnce and now this move seems to be only worsening this.
The argument of our HRD minister that the IIMs and IITs have been asked to increase their intake is totally baffling. In the first place will the universities raise their intake by almost 30%? Second most deemed universities are private instituitions and asking them to increase their intake at a time when there is already a huge contrversy between the deemed universities and a body of the stature of AICTE is totally absurdity at its height.
Reservation in various sectors ranging from education to jobs has been one of the primary reasons for the brain drain. Now that will only increase. As such most of the upper class is discontended with the existing reservation system. This rubs salt into their wounds.
Once the intake is increased further the standard of education will go down further.Haven't we seen in recent times people coming from very modest backgrounds making it to the top.Take for example the guy who once sold idlis -Sarath.The government is always taking the shortcut of reservation in higher education ,rather than increasing the standard of living of the oppressed classes and citing that as a move to increase their living. What needs to be done is better education at school levels so that they can make it to the elite instituitions by merit. As such this new scheme will cover up for most of the non Hindus.Of course many Hindu classes will also be benificiaries but most of the Christians and Muslims fall under the backward communities. No I'm not insinuating them. But is it not the truth?
The Govt. must rather create universites exclusively for its scheduled classes rather than tinker with the existing set up.The move comes as such from the Congress led Govt. ,and that too in the field of education ,so most sane individuals would agree that its not a move for the good.
Reservations , Reservations.

Before taking higher education, ppl should have the basic education. It's necessary to take school education to masses rather than education. Satti'la iruntha thaana agappai'la varum...
